Bass Creek, located in Mashomack Preserve, is accessible from Smith's Cove
near South Ferry. With a somewhat narrow mouth that is shallow at low tide, and
protected from boat traffic, Bass Creek is one of the most serene bodies of water to
paddle.
An old wooden foot bridge is a highlight of the paddling experience and it is not
uncommon to see a few osprey, egrets and herons.
