Crescent Beach
Besides the beach itself,
Crescent Beach has two town
landings.
SHELTER ISLAND PADDLER CLUB
Crescent Beach is named for the shape of the 8/10 mile of sand that is populated
with many beach-goers in the summer months.

The beach is THE spot to be during the July 4th weekend fireworks celebration that
has become a day-long celebration during the past decade or so.

As far as paddling goes, the water called Shelter Island Sound is calm without boat
traffic, however be prepared for a lot of choppy water during the summer.

It's best to stay just outside the marked swimming areas and not venture too far
into the sound due to fast moving powerboats.

There are a few large rocks that break the surface near the docks in front of the
Pridwin hotel, so steer clear.
