Shelter Island Paddler Club

At Second Bridge you will find many amateur anglers learning how to fish during
snapper season in late summer. A highlight of the Shelter Island summer is the
Annual Snapper Derby.

The current can be strong, especially during the incoming tide. Stay in the middle at
low tide.

After you enter the creek, you can get a glimpse of the Island's oldest house, the
historic Sylvester Manor house with its yellow exterior.

At low tide it's very tough to paddle around without running aground.
