Simpson Road/Montclair Colony
SHELTER ISLAND PADDLER CLUB
The Simpson Road/Montclair Colony area is littered with three town landings,
which are all pretty good put-in spots for easy access to different parts of the island.

At the corner of Simpson Road and South Menantic Road, there is a town landing
just south of the Island Boatyard with a lot of beach grass that allows access to the
Shell Beach area and Menantic Creek. The town's forefathers were town
landing-happy in that area as there is another put-in spot in Montclair Colony with
access to the same body of water, just a hunder yards away.

At the west end of Simpson Road, a fairly wide, well-kept town landing ramp offers
direct access to West Neck Creek/Harbor. There is plenty of parking at this landing,
however, please stay off the neighbors' property and park up the road a little, away
from the landing so boaters have easy access to the ramp.
