The Great Swamp
SHELTER ISLAND PADDLER CLUB
The Great Swamp is close to 20 miles of scenic beauty in the back woods of
Putnam County. Two vehicles or a drop-off/pick-up are needed if you want to paddle
a long distance in the swamp. Myriad wildlife, fish and plants surround paddlers in
the warmer months.
